Meeting The Client Brief (U3: P5, M4, D1)
Learning Objective 4 (U3): Be able to carry out production techniques and processes for an original media product to a client brief
I have exported my final products as a PDF file format, to ensure a high quality file (300DPI). This means that the product can be exported as a high quality file and when printed this will also ensure the best quality.
I used the Drop shadow tool to make the word "exclusive" stand out more as it camouflaged into the background so by doing this it stood out and put more emphasis on the fact that it is exclusive. This is a convention of magazines. The meaning of using this tool is to make sure that the reader sees it when they look at the magazine meaning they are more likely to pick it up as it stands out. This has been created by the shadow behind the word making it stand out more. The word exclusive helps to emphasise the idea that it is original such as the grime music scene in North London made locally in North London as the magazine is made and written in North London

I used the outer glow tool to make the main image stand out more and put emphasis that it is the most important image on the whole double page spread. I did this as when you first look at the double page spread the first thing you look at is that image showing it is a music magazine and you know that he is a north London artist by making him stand out that much it adds to the North London relevance. I also did this as in all of the double page spreads i looked at they all made the main image stand out more than anything else so i did this of for that reason.
In order to set up photoshop i opened the application then choose international paper. Then i chose size A4 for the front cover and A3 for the double page spread as these are the conventional sizes of magazine covers and double page spreads.
The tool I used it putting two colours of text over each other to make a 3D effect. I used this because it helps to outline the quote and make it stand out. This shows how important this quote is and connects to the magazine to the brief by showing it is a Grime music magazine based in north London. This reflects the vibrant music scene by using original content such as the quote from a song from this north London rapper
The tool i used is the magnetic lasso tool. I used this because by cutting out the image it created focus on the image of the model and what they are wearing by doing this it helps to further emphasise the Grime music magazine feel to the magazine. As what they are wearing connotes grime though the tracksuits with hoods and balaclavas. This links to a vibrant north London music scene using original content such as the models as they are original and exclusive to only this magazine
The tool I used is the magnetic lasso tool. I used this because by cutting out the image it created focus on the image of the model and what they are wearing by doing this it helps to further emphasise the Grime music magazine feel to the magazine. Especially as it is on the front cover and that is the first thing the reader will see it is important that the first image they see coyotes with grime. As what they are wearing connotes grime though the tracksuits with hoods and balaclavas this is what the reader expects to see. This links to a vibrant north London music scene using original content such as the models as they are original and exclusive to only this magazine. As stated in the client brief
HOW THESE POST PRODUCTION PROCESSES HELP THE PRODUCT MEET THE CLIENT BRIEF (QUOTE THE BRIEF DIRECTLY)
"The first
edition of the magazine, to showcase the talent and venues in the area" this is stated in the brief and the magazine is suitable for this as it has all of the qualities that are asked for in the brief such as a print based magazine, in north London, with a vibrant music scene. This is all evident in the magazine as it is a Grime magazine and Grime is a vibrant music scene in North London and the magazine cover is based on an artist who is from Harlesden in North London. All of the tools screen shotted above help to further emphasise this. There is also sample pages of the front cover and double page spread final product. They all conform to the codes and conventions of music magazine front covers and double page spreads by meeting the expectations of a grime magazine using colours like red, white and black, which connote grime. The models are all wearing clothes that connote grime, and the cover lines all connote grime as they all emphasise how this magazine relates to a vibrant music scene relevant to north London as per the brief.
I exported these images from photoshop to JPEG
